SDG 2 ; Zero Hunger : How we can help.

Image
Zero Hunger is an important global goal that requires action from everyone—governments, communities, organizations, and individuals. Helping to achieve Zero Hunger means working to make sure everyone has enough nutritious food to live a healthy life. Here are some simple ways we can contribute to this goal. Support Local Farmers and Sustainable Agriculture Small-scale farmers produce much of the food we eat, yet they often struggle with limited resources and poor access to markets. Supporting local farmers by buying their products helps improve their income and motivates sustainable farming practices. Sustainable agriculture protects the land and water for future generations, ensuring steady food supplies. Reduce Food Waste A large amount of food is wasted every day during production, transportation, and at home. When food is wasted, it means resources like water, energy, and labor were also wasted. We can help by planning meals carefully, storing food properly, using leftove...

SDG 2 ; Zero Hunger : The systematic issues

Image
Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2), known as Zero Hunger, aims to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. However, many systematic issues make this goal difficult to achieve. These challenges are complex and interconnected, affecting food systems and the people who depend on them. Systematic Issues Behind Hunger One major issue is the rise in food insecurity worldwide. Despite previous progress, hunger has increased again since 2015 due to various factors. By 2023, over two billion people faced moderate to severe food insecurity. This means they do not have reliable access to enough safe and nutritious food. Several causes contribute to this, including conflicts, climate change, economic shocks, and rising food prices. These issues disrupt food production and supply, making it harder for people to get the food they need. Climate change plays a large role by causing extreme weather events...

SDG 2 ; Hunger : Why and how?

Image
Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2) is called “Zero Hunger.” It focuses on ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture by the year 2030. In about 500 words, this can be explained through two main ideas: why SDG 2 is needed and how it can be achieved. Why SDG 2 is important Hunger is still one of the biggest problems in the world. Many people do not get enough food every day, and many others eat food that does not give them the nutrients they need to stay healthy. When people are hungry, they become weak, fall sick easily, and cannot work or study properly. Children who grow up without enough nutritious food can suffer from stunting, which affects their physical and mental development for life. Hunger is therefore not just about empty stomachs; it is about blocked futures. SDG 2 is also important because hunger is closely linked with poverty, inequality and conflict. Poor families often spend most of their income on food,...

SDG 2, also known as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, aims to achieve "Zero Hunger" by 2030 by ending hunger, achieving food security and improved nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture worldwide. Main Targets Universal access to safe and nutritious food, prioritizing the poor and vulnerable. Ending all forms of malnutrition, with special emphasis on children under five, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly. Increasing agricultural productivity and incomes, especially for small-scale producers, and ensuring equal access to land, technology, and mar...

Trump's new world order

Image
Trump's new world order   Donald Trump's New World Order addresses U.S. foreign policy initiatives during Mr. Trump’s Presidency, appeasing traditional enemies such as Russia and undermining allies such as NATO and the European Union. In the book, Ambassador T. Hamid Al-Bayati outlines, region by region, policy by policy, the administration’s misguided, and sometimes corrupt, initiatives and decisions, which could potentially lead to regional conflict and global war. Highlighted within the text are the administration’s relationships and interactions with Russia, China, North Korea, and the Middle East, as well as within the United States. The author’s critical review of Trump’s foreign policy includes the impact of trade wars, military escalation, and changing global relationships, Ambassador Al-Bayati paints a stark picture of the present standing of the U.S. and a dark future that looms on the horizon. Many experts agree that Trump’s foreign policy lacks c...

Russia, USA, Ukraine & the absurdity of war

US, Russia forge ahead on peace talks, without Ukraine   U.S. President Donald Trump's administration said on Tuesday it had agreed to hold more talks with Russia on ending the war in Ukraine after an initial meeting that excluded Kyiv, a departure from Washington's previous approach that rallied U.S. allies to isolate Russian President Vladimir Putin. As the 4-1/2-hour meeting in the Saudi capital was underway, Russia hardened its demands, notably insisting it would not tolerate the NATO alliance granting membership to Ukraine.         Later on Tuesday, Trump said he was more confident after the talks and he would probably meet with Putin before the end of the month. "Russia wants to do something," Trump told reporters in Palm Beach, Florida. He brushed aside Ukraine's concern about being left out of the meeting and said Kyiv should have entered talks much earlier. "I think I have the power to end this war," said Trump. The talks in Riyadh we...
